Participate

16 September 2024 | Q&A

Alliance participants are organizations, rather than individuals. Participants should be actively working in a field related to the prevention, diagnosis or management of anaemia.

The Core group and Stakeholders’ Forum may consist of government organizations, including technical institutions, intergovernmental organizations, and eligible non-State actors (i.e. non-governmental organizations, philanthropic foundations, and academic institutions). The private sector entities including business associations, and groups representing private sector interests are not eligible as members of the Core group but may participate in the Forum through their constituencies.

Being part of the Anaemia Action Alliance represents a commitment to drive the transformational anaemia action that science demands. That means through direct action and advocacy to meet the global goals under the Sustainable Development Goals and the World Health Assembly targets, halving the prevalence of anaemia by 2025* and 2030, leading to healthier populations and lives saved.

Organizations, rather than individuals, are required to apply to the Anaemia Action Alliance because organizations typically possess the resources, expertise, and networks necessary to contribute significantly to the Alliance's goals. They can often mobilize teams of experts, coordinate efforts across departments, and leverage existing partnerships to advance anemia reduction.

Requiring organizational membership helps to ensure that the Alliance has a strong foundation of committed and capable partners who can contribute meaningfully to its mission of reducing anemia globally.

You will receive an automatic acknowledgment of your application once you submit your materials, and you can expect an update from the Secretariat within four to six weeks. Applications are reviewed by WHO and UNICEF. Applications from non-State actors are reviewed by FENSA
